Here's a little bit on my basketball history. I am probably the biggest Shaq fan ever in life (minus some allegations regarding his marriage, affairs etc.). Anyway, I enjoy Shaq. I think he has a great attitude towards the game and life in general. He brings a lot of positivity to his team and the city he is in. His charity work is commendable and, lets be honest, I think he's hilarious. I was the happiest when Shaq was with the Heat. In fact, while he was playing there I had a nice conversation with a cab driver in Miami about Shaq and his image/brand. The cab driver shared with me that Shaq was by far the most down to earth player/celebrity he had ever met and told me about all the amazing things Shaq was doing in the local communities. This made me enjoy him even more. My city doesn't have a NBA team but Cleveland does...the Cavs. I was never a Cavs fan but with Shaq going/being there I had to follow. To this day I call myself a Shaq fan vs. a Cavs fan because I am not yet ready to commit. This brings me to my point... I think LBJ is going to stay in Cleveland.
I don't understand why else he would hold a hour prime time "special". He is smart and so are "his people." I think the special is a great way to create hype, positivity and excitement about him staying and all the great things that will come out of the Cavs this year. However, I think the special would be a poor way to announce his departure....I think many loyal Cavs fans would frown on this. Additionally, there haven't been many times in history where a lot of stars played on the same team. In my opinion having them spread out keeps the league interesting.
Another thing I am excited about is Byron Scott. I've always been a fan of his and always will be. Byron + Shaq could equal me becoming a Cavs fan... no promises, just putting it out there.
Lastly, and completely unrelated to the above, I would like to thank you all for being excited about my blog, reading it, commenting on it, passing it on, and following it!! I totally appreciate the love and support.
Until next time...PEACE LOVE AND SOUL
